Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to work on major water and wastewater projects across the UK, including London and Reading. You will help shape civil design from concept to commissioning, coordinating with commercial, operational and construction teams to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering required or equivalent.
- Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution.
- Experience delivering high quality outputs in line with design, quality and safety standards.

- Providing design support and guidance for schemes and ensuring designs meet current legislation and standards.
- Working closely with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions across design, construction and beyond.
- Actively engage with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one-team approach to support their aims.
- Managing interfaces and integration of the civil design with other disciplines and production of documentation.
- Acting as technical checker on project documents and undertaking technical reviews.
- Identifying opportunities to improve delivery processes including standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools.
- Undertaking site reviews to ensure buildability and integration within existing systems.
- Supporting the development of the civil engineering team, mentoring engineers and identifying resources for projects.

Mott MacDonald Bentley is a fully integrated design and build business combining the design expertise of Mott MacDonald with the contracting experience of JN Bentley to deliver award winning projects. Working for Mott MacDonald Bentley, you will work on major water and wastewater schemes throughout all phases of the project from feasibility through to construction.
MMB has extended its contract with Thames Water for an additional five years. As the largest water and wastewater provider in the UK, Thames Water serves 15 million customers throughout London and the Thames Valley. This extension will carry the current workload beyond the end of AMP8 in March 2030. We are delivering work in the Thames Valley region (extending from Cirencester in the west to the M25 and from Basingstoke in the South to Banbury in the North). This sees us undertake a varied programme of sizable projects in wastewater treatment, clean water production and Infrastructure (Water and Wastewater networks).
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you'll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities - enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the civil functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects. From concept design to commissioning, you will ensure that all civil aspects are meticulously considered and integrated.
- Providing design support and guidance for schemes and ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards
- Working closely and collaboratively with the commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyond
- Positively engage with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one-team approach to supporting them in achieving their aims
- Managing the interfaces and integration of the civil design with that of other disciplines and production of documentation
- Acting as technical checker on project documents, and undertaking technical reviews for projects across teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve delivery processes including development and implementation of standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools
- Undertaking site reviews to ensure buildability of solutions and integration within the existing systems
- Supporting the development of the civil engineering team, coaching and mentoring engineers to develop their skill set and identifying the correct resource for the projects
- Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field
- Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution
- Experience of successfully delivering high quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards
