Join a leading private engineering consultancy in Sevenoaks and drive the delivery of major commercial, retail, and residential schemes while advancing your path to Chartership.

If you're an expert in Civils 3D and Micro Drainage and seeking a progressive, inclusive environment, this opportunity is built for you.

The Opportunity: Technical Authority & Mentoring

We are partnered with a highly respected, well-established engineering firm that views its people as the primary source of its success. This Senior role is designed for an engineer ready to step up and take true technical authority over multiple projects, ensuring quality and statutory compliance from concept through construction. You will be expected to work independently, manage package delivery, and most importantly, contribute to the growth of the team by mentoring junior colleagues, establishing you as a key leader within the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Design Packages: Take ownership of complex infrastructure designs, including advanced SUDS drainage systems and road networks compliant with adoptable (S38, S278) and DMRB standards.
  • Statutory Liaison & Approvals: Manage all technical submissions and liaise directly with critical statutory bodies, including Water Authorities (e.g., Southern & Thames Water) and Local Roads Departments, to secure necessary approvals.
  • Quality & Software: Serve as a technical checker and expert user of design software, including PDS/Civils 3D and Micro Drainage/Causeway Flow.
  • Team Leadership: Actively mentor and guide less experienced colleagues, reviewing their work and contributing to their professional development.
  • Project Delivery: Effectively manage project budgets and timelines, attending key design meetings and conducting site inspections.
Your Professional Profile

We are looking for a Chartered (or near Chartered) Engineer who possesses the technical depth and professional maturity to lead.

Candidate Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 6+ years of professional design experience in a UK consultancy environment.
  • Demonstrable expertise in the design of development infrastructure, highways, and foul/surface water drainage systems.
  • Proven proficiency in key technical software: Civils 3D and Micro Drainage are essential.
  • Experience in securing statutory approvals (S38, S278, S104).
  • Culture fit: Collaborative, inclusive, and proactive mindset.

Exceptional Benefits & Investment
  • Competitive senior salary, contributory pension scheme, personal health care plan, and life insurance.
  • 33 days annual leave (inclusive of Public Holidays), with flexible schemes to purchase or buy back additional leave.
  • Benefit from attractive loyalty bonuses and qualifications awards (financial recognition for achieving Chartership).
  • Comprehensive structured training and reimbursement of professional fees.
  • Access to an interest‑free travel loan scheme.
