Senior Civil Engineer - Leading UK Engineering Consultancy

Are you an experienced Civil Engineer looking for your next career move? We're working with a highly respected, employee-owned civil and structural engineering consultancy with over 60 years of success delivering innovative and sustainable design solutions across the UK. This forward-thinking consultancy takes pride in creating a positive impact on communities and the built environment, and they're now looking to grow their Civils team in Liverpool with a talented Engineer or Technician who's ready to take the next step.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team of over 30 professionals working on a diverse range of projects across the healthcare, commercial, industrial, residential, and education sectors, with project values reaching 100m+. You'll play a key role in leading and delivering civil engineering designs, mentoring junior staff, and supporting technical excellence across multiple projects from early-stage concepts through to construction.

• Leading design and coordination for infrastructure, drainage, highways, and flood risk projects
• Preparing and managing planning applications and technical reports
• Producing high-quality design work using AutoCAD and Civil 3D (training available)
• Liaising with local authorities, clients, and multidisciplinary teams
• Managing S278, S104, and S38 approvals and design processes

About You

• 4-7 years' experience in a civil engineering consultancy environment
• A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical qualifications (HNC/HND)
• Strong design experience in areas such as highways, drainage, or flood risk
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Civil 3D or Causeway Flow experience beneficial
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE / CIHT)

Desirable experience:

• Flood Risk Assessments
• Residential or masterplanning projects
• Hydraulic design software
