Job summary

Morgan Hunt are working with a Glasgow-based consultancy to recruit Senior Civil Engineers to lead the design and delivery of development infrastructure from feasibility through to completion. You will mentor junior engineers and develop strong client relationships.

Projects include residential, roads and infrastructure, SuDS, flood risk and varied sectors such as education, healthcare and commercial developments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering is required and chartered status or progress toward chartership is preferred.
• Proven experience in roads, drainage and infrastructure design within civil projects.
• Knowledge of SuDS, flood risk and developing infrastructure is essential.
• Experience with Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage or similar software is required.
• Strong communication and project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design of development infrastructure projects from feasibility to construction.
• Prepare roads, drainage and infrastructure designs using industry-standard software.
• Liaise with local authorities and other statutory bodies.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development with clients.

Job description

Morgan Hunt are working with a consultancy in Glasgow to add a number of Senior Civil Engineers to their team. Working alongside civil, structural and surveying teams, you'll lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects from feasibility through to completion. You'll be responsible for managing project delivery, mentoring junior engineers and developing strong relationships with clients.

Projects include:

• Residential and mixed-use developments
• Roads and infrastructure design
• Surface water and foul drainage design
• Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
• Earthworks and cut-and-fill modelling
• Flood risk and drainage assessments
• Education, healthcare, commercial and industrial developments
• Energy and Power projects (battery storage works, data centres, renewables)

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the civil engineering design of development infrastructure projects
• Preparing roads, drainage and infrastructure designs using industry-standard software
• Liaising with local authorities and other statutory bodies
• Managing projects from initial feasibility through planning and construction
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring junior engineers
• Supporting business development and building long-term client relationships

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
• Chartered status (CEng) or working towards chartership
• Strong experience in roads, drainage and infrastructure design
• Good knowledge of SuDS, flood risk and development infrastructure
• Experience using Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage or similar design software
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• A proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
