Senior Civil and Drainage Engineer

Location: Leeds

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civil and Drainage Engineer to join a growing consultancy in Leeds. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with at least five years of design experience who wants to take a lead role in delivering high quality civil engineering and drainage solutions across a wide range of development projects. You will join a collaborative and forward thinking team that places strong emphasis on technical excellence, innovation and professional development.

As a Senior Civil and Drainage Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of drainage schemes, SuDS, external works and civil infrastructure for projects in sectors such as education, commercial, residential, industrial, petrochemical, food and energy. You will prepare S104, S38 and S278 submissions, produce Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Impact Assessments, and ensure all outputs meet industry standards and statutory requirements. You will also take part in site assessments, contribute to planning support and play an active role in mentoring junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and lead drainage, SuDS, external works and civil infrastructure design.
• Produce technical reports including Flood Risk Assessments and drainage studies.
• Prepare S104, S38 and S278 packages.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and attend site assessments.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and support high technical standards.
• Manage workload, project delivery, fees and resource planning.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and InfoDrainage to produce high quality design outputs.

About You

• Minimum five years' experience in civil and drainage design.
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, ideally with a master's degree.
• Chartered or working towards Chartership.
• Strong understanding of UK standards, legislation and design requirements.
• Confident communicator with leadership and project management capability.
