Location: Sunderland, Tyne and Wear — Salary: £30,991–£35,400 (base) £34,151–£38,560 assuming good attendance and 1‑2 sleep‑ins per month — Full time — Posted by Witherslack Group, Sunday 16 November 2025

Responsibilities

As a shift leader you will take care of our young people day‑to‑day, ensuring smooth operations and creating lasting memories. You’ll support the staff team, maintain high standards, and be prepared to deputise for Team Leaders. Your role will involve building relationships with young people, being compassionate, emotionally resilient, and providing inspiring leadership to colleagues.

Qualifications
  • Can‑do attitude – a team player who rolls up sleeves to help others
  • Genuinely care about young people and colleagues (honesty and empathy)
  • Resilience to deal with challenging situations
  • A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – not required, we’ll pay for you to study and support you
