Job summary

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council’s Legal Team is seeking a childcare advocate to join the childcare unit and deliver high-quality legal services for residents of Rotherham.

The role requires a minimum of 7 years PQE and Higher Rights of Audience (or willingness to work towards it). The Advocate will handle complex cases, take instructions from team members, and contribute to supervision and training within the team, including hearings and High Court applications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years PQE in childcare or related area.
• Higher Rights of Audience or willingness to work towards it.
• Ability to supervise/train within the team.

Responsibilities

• Handle a few complex childcare cases with guidance from the team.
• Take instructions from team members who would otherwise instruct Counsel.
• Carry out supervisory/training role within the team and client department.
• Attend hearings and High Court applications as required.
