Job summary

AWD Recruitment Limited is seeking a Lead Child Protection Practitioner to shape safeguarding practice in a senior statutory role. You will chair conferences, coordinate multi-agency activity and exercise decision-making to improve outcomes for children and families, working across Derbyshire with front-line teams.

The role requires DBS clearance, extensive frontline experience and the ability to travel across North and South Derbyshire, with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Current Social Work England registration.
• Substantial frontline statutory child protection experience.
• Experience chairing meetings and applying childcare legislation.

Responsibilities

• Chair complex Child Protection Conferences ensuring participation of children.
• Lead multi-agency strategy discussions and monitor Section 47 investigations.
• Make statutory decisions using multi-agency intelligence and expertise.
• Promote children’s voices and oversee family participation.
• Ensure protection planning and timely case records.
