Job summary

MPJ Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Child Care Solicitor (3+ PQE) to join our well-established team in Cambridge. You will handle a high-quality caseload of publicly funded Child Care work, advising and representing parents, family members and Guardians, including CAFCASS-appointed Children's Guardian.

This role offers ownership of your caseload, opportunities for development, hybrid working, 26 days plus BH, and a supportive team focused on growth of the Child Care department.

Qualifications

• Qualified Child Care Solicitor with 3+ PQE.
• Experience in care proceedings and related matters.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to contribute to growth.
• Guardian following advantageous but not essential.
• Advocacy experience desirable.
• Mentoring junior colleagues is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied Child Care caseload from instruction to conclusion.
• Advise and represent clients in care proceedings and related orders.
• Provide clear, practical legal advice to vulnerable clients.
• Represent clients in court when required.
• Prepare high-quality documents and correspondence.
• Maintain accurate case files and meet regulatory requirements.
• Develop relationships with clients and external professionals.
• Contribute to business development and department growth.
