Job summary

Oakland Care is seeking a passionate Senior Chef to join our friendly team. Working alongside the Head Chef, you will help deliver nutritious meals that support residents' health and wellbeing.

This role offers 40 hours per week, a £18 per hour rate, and a full-time permanent contract with daytime shifts across weekdays and some weekends. You will ensure meals meet dietary needs and high food hygiene standards, making a real difference every day.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef, Chef de Partie, or similar role.
• Passion for producing high-quality, nutritious food.
• Knowledge of dietary requirements within a care setting.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 desirable).
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning nutritious meals.
• Support delivery of varied menus including special diets.
• Maintain food hygiene, health and safety standards.
• Supervise kitchen staff and day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering.
• Ensure meals are served on time and high quality.
• Maintain records in line with CQC and food safety requirements.
• Promote a positive, collaborative working environment.

Hours: 40 hours per week

Pay: £18.00 per hour

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Shift: Days (5 days across 7, includes some weekends)

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience as a Chef, Chef de Partie, or similar role.
