Fixed term/ Secondment opportunity for 12 months to improve service delivery.

Secondment Opportunity – Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager and complete the secondment request form prior to interview. Due to maternity leave an opportunity has arisen for the position of Senior Charge Nurse within Theatre department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. FV Theatre Department consists of 16 Operating Theatre within Forth Valley Royal Hospital and 2 Operating Theatres at Falkirk Community Hospital.

As SCN you are responsible for the development and operational management of approximately 45 staff across a continuum of beginner to proficient.

We are seeking clinically experienced theatre nurses/operating theatre practitioners in Anaesthetics, Scrub & Recovery who can lead the service into the future through organisational change and service improvement. The service has changed considerably in recent years and the SCN role is pivotal for sustainable change and growth. The ideal candidate(s) will be visionary, collaborative, and proactive. Leadership and coaching skills will be an asset to succeed in the role.

You will be responsible for specific theatres/areas within the department. This will include general surgery, breast, gynaecology, ENT/Max Fax, Urology & Ophthalmology specialities, anaesthetics, and recovery. This is a clinical based role, enhancing the management of the teams. You will work alongside x2 theatre coordinators, but roles will be aligned within job descriptions.
