Job summary

THE COMPANY

Our client is an international bank. They are a leading provider of Trade Finance, Corporate & Institutional Banking.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support relationship managers to gather and ensure the timely collection of relevant CDD / KYC information and completion of Due Diligence (DD) process in line with Bank policy.
  • Assess the client risk and the level of DD required for the client, i.e., Enhanced, Standard or Simplified.
  • When justified, make recommendations to MLRO for their sign-off on clients moving to/from a high-risk rating.
  • Identify and elevate Politically Exposed Persons associated with clients and its related parties.
  • Identity and escalating any sanctions related risks to London Sanctions Advisory (LSA) Team.
  • Take ownership of a file, seeing it through on an end-to-end basis.
  • Proactively respond queries from teams and clients as part of the CDD service.
  • Perform against productivity and quality targets set both individually and across the team.
  • Raise internal Suspicious Activity Reports where any suspicious activity is identified.
  • Ensure feedback received from Quality Control colleagues is implemented, and high quality of files is maintained.
  • Liaise with other European branches and Head Office on KYC matters as necessary during onboarding or periodic review process.
  • Update PEP Register as part of the onboarding, periodic review, event‑driven review process.
  • Support the Head of Business Financial Crime with GRC tool required updates.
  • Provide training and guidance to CDD colleagues, in London and the European branches.
  • Utilize digital onboarding tool (Fenergo) to input all relevant customer information.
  • Support the Head of Business Financial Crime with ad‑hoc projects relating to wider AML/CDD/KYC function.
  • Utilize CDD case management tool IRIS to track customer file cycle and ensure that the PRs and NTBs are completed within the agreed timelines.
  • Ensure that IRIS status is correct and up to date (although every analyst is responsible for its own cases, the candidate needs to ensure that IRIS provides the up‑to‑date status of all cases).
  • Support Head of Business Financial Crime in sourcing the data of overdue PRs for weekly calls with accountable RMs.
  • Be the driver of process improvement in CDD/KYC space and take an active role in communicating on‑going changes to the Team.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Prior experience in onboarding complex corporate structures and Financial Institutions (FIs) is a must
  • Middle Eastern KYC client experience required
  • Experience and understanding of Trade Finance product offering preferable
  • Understanding of cross‑border requirements and the application of regulation and international standards such as the latest EU Money Laundering Directive, Financial Action Task Force (FATF), Transparency International, Wolfsberg Principles (correspondent banking/trade finance)
  • Working knowledge of Arabic language (ability to translate documents) desirable but not essential.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of FATCA and CRS is highly desirable
  • Prior experience of working within a 1LOD in CDD / Client Onboarding role preferable
  • Previous experience of Siron KYC system desirable
  • Previous experience of Fenergo digital solution desirable
