Job summary

The Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a B6 Specialist Education Mental Health Practitioner (CBT Therapist). The post involves 37.5 hours across Sandwell and Walsall, with some cross-area duties as service needs dictate.

The role focuses on youth mental health within educational settings and multi-agency collaboration. Candidates will carry out in-depth assessments, provide interventions and act as a link between services and schools.

Qualifications

• Two years' post-qualification experience of working with Children and Young People in a psychotherapeutic capacity.
• Ability to work at a senior level and support junior staff as required.
• CBT accreditation with BABCP or working towards it.
• Significant experience of working with children/young people with emerging mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out in-depth mental health assessments including risk assessments when required.
• Act as the link between the team and educational settings to ensure appropriate care.
• Provide support, advice and consultation to families, carers and professionals.
