Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Residential Senior Carer in Bath to lead a care team, oversee shift duties, and ensure high-quality, person-centred care. You will support medication administration, care plan reviews, and liaise with GPs and district nurses to safeguard resident wellbeing.
The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, medication training, and proven experience in a residential setting with a focus on compassionate leadership and resident rights.
As a Residential Senior Carer at a Barchester care home, you’ll look after the different needs of our residents to enable us to deliver quality, person-centred care and support. You will be responsible for leading a team of care staff, which will include training, supervisions and delegating duties on shift. You will also support with the administering and ordering of medication, reviewing and updating resident care plans and risk assessment, and liaising with GP’s, district nursing teams and resident family members. Like everyone here, as a Residential Senior Care Assistant, you’ll always respect the dignity and preferences of our residents as well playing your own part in creating an environment that’s warm, welcoming and vibrant.
The role will be 4 shifts per week 8am-8pm and include working alternateweekends.
The successful candidate will have minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care as well as medication training to join us as a Residential Senior Care Assistant. You will have previous experience in a residential care setting along with proven team leadership skills and the ability to make appropriate decisions to support the needs and wellbeing of our Residents. We’re looking for people who are warm-hearted, compassionate and committed to giving each resident individualised care and support. Many of our Senior Carer Assistants progress into Care Practitioners, Care Community Leads or on to nursing pathways.
