SENIOR HEALTHCARE ASSISTANTS- DAY SHIFTS

The Home is a purpose-built 46-bed residential care home located within the Billingham area, specialises in residential care, dementia and stroke-related care.

Our qualified nursing team are available 24 hours a day to provide medical and other forms of specialised support. Respecting older people and recognising each resident as a unique individual, our nurses provide not just high-quality nursing skills, but truly person-centred care.

Due to the location, it is desirable to be a driver and have own transportation.

Job Types : Permanent, Full-time, hours: 33-44 per week

Salary : £13.20-£13.44 per hour depending on experience.

Please NOTE we are not able to provide sponsorship, we do need only care assistants able to work full-time.

Responsibilities include :
  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting and assisting Residents when required with all aspects of daily living
  • Assist Residents in all aspects of their care needs, e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual
  • Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Residents retain their comfort and dignity
  • Observe care planning needs for Residents and completed daily records as instructed
  • Assist in framework of social activities by interacting with Residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care Centre
  • Answer Nurse Call system, giving assistance as required
  • Answer the door and telephone appropriately
  • Respond accordingly, and pass on messages promptly
  • Report on well-being of Residents
  • Clean and maintain equipment used by Residents and Relatives e.g. wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etc
Requirements for the role
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Previous experience of working with the relevant Service User group as Senior Healthcare assistant for at lease 6 months
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care and medication training for a Senior role is mandatory o have it
  • Team player
  • Driving license and own car is desirable
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Previous experience of working with the relevant Service User group as Senior Healthcare assistant
  • To have the right to work in the UK and don't need sponsorship
  • Live in the area and able to commute easily
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in CARE as a Senior Healthcare assistant is mandatory
  • Ability to drive is advantageous
  • Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
  • Strong leadership skills to supervise and guide care activities
  • Understanding of care plans and their implementation
  • Passion for providing quality care in a residential setting
  • Manual handling
  • Care Certificate is desirable
