Qualifications

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant - Nights

Salary: £15.46ph - from 1st Jan 26 - Plus Incentives

Hours: Full Time 3-4 shifts per week - 7.30pm to 7.45am (to include alternate weekends)

Location: Brigg DN20 8DL

A little about Orchard Court Care Home :

Orchard Court is located near the centre of Brigg. The home is set around a former coaching inn, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character. This provides the homeliness that Jasmine seeks for its homes, whilst still providing modern living accommodation. The home provides personal care, including dementia care for 39 residents.

Day to Day Responsibilities for Senior Care Assistant :
  • Provide the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting residents in all aspects of daily living.
  • Promote residents' independence with a focus on choice, dignity and respect, alongside promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing and giving input during shift handovers.
  • Lead the shift to ensure high standards are maintained, and other team members feel supported.
  • Complete daily medication rounds and document consistently without errors, ensuring daily charts are completed to a high standard by all team members on all shifts you will be responsible for leading.
  • Promote good practice in all aspects of care, challenge poor practice from other team members, ensure one-to-ones for all care and support team members are done every two months and investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.
Essential Requirements for Senior Care Assistant :
  • Relevant Professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3).
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in a residential / nursing home setting.
  • Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
  • Knowledge and understanding of prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of signs of abuse and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
  • Live within 30 minutes of the Home.
Preferred Requirements for Senior Care Assistant :
  • Two years' experience in a similar role in a nursing home.
  • At least one year of experience working in a similar role in a residential or nursing home; or
  • At least two years of experience in a Senior Care role in a residential or nursing home.
  • One year experience of caring for residents living with dementia.
  • NVQ Level 4 in Adult Health and Social Care or above.
  • Knowledge of National Care Standards Act 2000.
  • Conducting effective person-centred One-to-Ones.
  • Experience of managing a team.
