Overview

One of your key responsibilities is to lead a team of Care Assistants, plan and implement the kind of care that will give residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know residents and their families, helping to deliver truly personalised care plans. You may assist with activities, support a Registered Nurse and Care Manager, and participate in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through a range of social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain the highest standards of care
  • Plan and deliver personalised care plans that promote security, dignity and independence
  • Get to know residents and their families and communicate effectively
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including guidance on the use of mobility aids
  • Support end-of-life care where appropriate
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses and the Care Manager
  • Provide physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities
  • Administer medication as required
  • Maintain accurate records of the care you provide and build strong team relationships
Qualifications
  • Ideally the Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Social Care
  • Prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Social Care or equivalent
  • Background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia
  • Strong positive energy and ability to get along with people
  • Good record-keeping skills and time management
  • Considerate and kind communication with residents and co-workers
