Main duties of the job

As a Senior Care Assistant, your focus will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being involved in the person‑centred care planning process, supporting residents with their medication requirements, and undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff development.

Shift Details

07.45 – 20.00 alternate weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident and ensuring any changes are reflected in care plans.
  • Involved in the person‑centred care planning process, implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Acting as a key point of contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are escalated.
Requirements
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar nursing or care environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
  • Live the values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable in all that you do.
