Qualifications

Overview

Main duties of the job

Plan and implement care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. Get to know residents and their families to deliver truly personalised care plans. Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain the highest standards of care, acting as a positive influence on the team. Show how to use assistive devices, support end-of-life meals, and communicate with residents’ families as needed, always with kindness. Assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, and administer medication.

Job responsibilities

Night and Day shifts available. You will maintain accurate records, build strong relationships with the team, and contribute to high-quality, person-centred care. Qualifications include ideally a Level 2 Diploma/NVQ in Adult Social Care with progression towards Level 3 or equivalent, experience in person-centred care planning, and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. A positive energy and ability to work well with others are essential, as is effective time management and thoughtful communication with residents and colleagues.

Safeguarding Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect, know how to respond, attend safeguarding training appropriate to your role, and seek advice or escalate concerns when action is not taken.
