Job summary

Bupa is seeking a Senior Care Assistant in a UK care home to lead a team of Care Assistants and support the nurse with clinical duties, medication administration and care plans. You will drive high-quality, person-centred care and foster strong relationships with residents and families.

You will be supported with training on digital care and ongoing professional development to help you deliver compassionate, dignified care and ensure smooth unit operation.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in care or higher; willing to support qualification
• Previous experience in the role and knowledge of rewards and challenges
• Passion for making a real difference and providing dignity and personalised support
• Training on digital care and commitment to clinical excellence

Responsibilities

• Run a care unit on a day-to-day basis
• Support with clinical duties, including aiding the nurse with medication and care plans
• Lead and manage a team of Care Assistants and oversee shift handovers
• Train and supervise new staff to ensure welcome and support
• Build relationships with residents, families and external teams like GPs and District Nurses
• Assist residents with personal care tasks and support home operations

You'll have completed / be working towards an NVQ3 in care or higher. We're more than happy to support you in the completion of your qualification if needed. You'll have previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges. • Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
• Supporting with clinical duties, including supporting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans and accurate record keeping
• Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsible for all shift handovers of the teams
• Helping with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
• Building relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
• Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties
