Overview

Job responsibilities

Please note that this is a full-time role working either day or night shifts from 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am - 44 hours per week. Full flexibility is required. Core duties include planning and implementing care to provide security, dignity and independence; leading a team of Care Assistants; maintaining high standards of care; assisting the Registered Nurse and Care Manager; delivering physical and mental stimulation through activities; administering medication; maintaining accurate records; building strong team relationships; and delivering truly personalised care plans for residents and their families. You will support residents by showing how to use assistive devices, helping with meals, and communicating with residents’ families as needed. Ideally, you will have completed a Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Care and work towards Level 3 or equivalent, with background in person-centred care planning and dementia care knowledge. Essential is positive energy, ability to get along with people, good record-keeping, time management, and kindness in all interactions.

Person specification and qualifications

Essential: NVQ or Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable). Experience in Health & Social Care settings. Ability to work in a team and communicate with residents and colleagues with kindness.

Desirable: NVQ or Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care.

Safeguarding and compliance

Safeguarding is a responsibility for all colleagues. You must be able to recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect and know how to raise concerns. All colleagues must attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and undertake additional training as required. This post is subject to DBS/Disclosure checks.
