Job description
Overview

As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will understand that our residents are people with their own stories, and you will have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people. You will plan and implement the kind of care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know our residents and their families, helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans.

Leading a team of Care Assistants, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care and you’ll be a real influence on the rest of the team. You may show someone how to use a walking frame, support someone at the end of life to eat a meal, or speak with a resident’s family, always with kindness as the guiding principle. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, and you may administer medication.

One key responsibility is to maintain accurate records of your work and build strong relationships with your team.

Ideally, you will have completed a Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Care or equivalent, along with a background in person-centered care planning and knowledge of care for people with dementia. What’s essential is a positive energy, the ability to get along with people, good record keeping, time management, and a consistently kind and considerate communication style with residents and colleagues.

  • Maintain accurate records and build strong team relationships.
  • Communicate with residents and co-workers with kindness and consideration.
