Job description

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care, supervising a team of Care Assistants, and supporting our client's daily needs. You will also assist with shadow shifts, spot checks, training staff, and ensuring that safeguarding and health and safety procedures are adhered to. Your work will make a real difference in the lives of those you care for, helping them maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. You will work closely with our care manager who will support you to oversee our clients in the Maidstone area. As well as supervisory duties, your schedule will include shifts of varying lengths, start and finish times and you will need to be available to work alternate weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate and support a team of care colleagues
  • Manage shadowing, competency assessments and conduct spot checks
  • Support with medication sign off in line with company policy
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, e.g. personal care, meal preparation, and light house keeping
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Administer medication and monitor health conditions
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families
  • Follow individualised care plans and report any changes in clients conditions to care manager
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times
  • Participate in the on-call rota, shared with the wider team
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Health and Social Care, with some supervisory or leadership skills
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (desirable but not essential)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
  • Eligible to work in the UK; no sponsorship offered
