Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Senior Care Assistant for Abbey Court Care Home in Heath Hayes, Cannock. You will work with the care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

The role requires an NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in care, at least 2 years of experience in a similar setting, and strong communication skills. A DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar care environment.
  • Effective communication skills in verbal and written form.
  • Positive attitude and ability to support residents and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Support and work with the care team to deliver high standards of personal care.
  • Monitor wellbeing and update care plans; reflect changes in records.
  • Assist with medication requirements.
  • Undertake staff supervision and support staff development.
  • Act as main contact with residents, relatives, and health and social care professionals; handle requests and escalate concerns.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive , and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff .

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.

Our ideal candidatemust:

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a positive attitude to bothsupporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
