Job summary

Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist role based at the Sowenna Unit, Bodmin, within the Multi-Agency Rapid Response Service (MARRS). The post leads a countywide crisis service across community and hospital settings, with 24/7 availability and close cross-agency collaboration.

You will provide senior medical leadership, undertake psychiatric assessments, and support timely discharge from inpatient care while enjoying dedicated SPA time and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• CCT/ or equivalent in CAMHS.
• Substantial experience managing a busy CAMHS caseload.
• Experience in community mental health settings.
• Participation in user involvement in services.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior medical leadership to the countywide crisis service for children and young people.
• Perform psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for acute mental health presentations.
• Lead on risk assessment, care planning and treatment formulation.
• Support 24/7 crisis response and collaboration with CAMHS, paediatrics and social care.
• Contribute to safeguarding, MDT meetings and discharge planning.
• Deliver education and training to medical students and trainees.
