Job summary

Nomad Foods, the World’s Frozen Food Champion, seeks a Senior Buyer for Indirects (Industrials, MRO & FM). You will build strong stakeholder relationships, challenge and influence suppliers, and drive cost savings in a fast-paced, structured environment.

You will lead value creation through supplier base optimisation, market intelligence, and ethical sourcing. Join a team focused on delivering commercial value and timely procurement actions across segments.

Qualifications

• Procurement experience essential, with indirect procurement preferable.
• Experience within FMCG or Manufacturing highly desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management and proactive communication.
• Proven record of delivering cost savings and improving commercial value.

Responsibilities

• Maximise end-to-end value by optimising the supplier base and standardising terms.
• Identify ways to unlock value and reduce costs with suppliers.
• Use market intelligence to forecast prices and trends for negotiations.
• Define sustainable, ethical sourcing actions and manage supplier relationships.
• Own procurement actions to rationalise co-packers and insource production.
• Deliver project outcomes on time by coordinating with cross-functional teams.

About the role…

We need a proactive self-starter who can build strong, meaningful relationships with stakeholders across multiple functions and multiple geographies. A persuasive manner with the ability to both challenge and influence internal stakeholders and suppliers alike are crucial. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, but structured, environment, together with a strong bias for action to deliver against both deadlines and financial targets.

Delivers Commercial Value

• Maximises end to end value creation by optimising the supplier base, leveraging our scale, harmonising specifications for goods/services and standardising payment and other contractual terms with suppliers
• Continuously strives to identify ways to unlock value, working collaboratively with suppliers to identify what both parties can do to sustainably reduce costs
• Uses market intelligence to forecast both price and market trends, leveraging this knowledge in negotiations with suppliers to deliver value

Sources goods & services in a sustainable and ethical way

• Minimises the environmental impact of our supply chain by working with the Sustainability Team to define the sustainable and ethical sourcing action plan for the segment and taking ownership of its delivery
• Leads the process to identify and select appropriate and compliant suppliers for their segment
• Owns the management of supplier relationships, tailoring the approach by segment, subsegment or product as required

Delivers project outcomes on time and in full

• Ensures successful delivery of plans to rationalise co-packers and insource production by owning the execution of procurement actions for their segment and proactively collaborating with other teams

About you…

A strong buyer with experience across either direct or indirect categories. Striving to deliver on cost-saving targets whilst maintaining high standards of performance and supplier relationships. You’ll be commercially driven and have strong communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
