Job summary

A leading Defence company in the UK seeks a Buyer/Senior Buyer for a 12-month hybrid contract role. The successful candidate will manage procurement strategies related to Plant & Equipment projects. Key qualifications include excellent stakeholder skills, contract negotiation experience, and a background in construction. This role offers £47.12 per hour and requires on-site work for 2-3 days a week.

  • Buyer/senior buyer with a track record of developing, implementing & managing procurement strategies.
  • Experience working in a similar position or related degree is required.

Overview

12 Month Contract — Glascoed Based (Hybrid, 2-3 days per week on site) — £47.12 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35.

This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UKs leading Defence companies based in Glascoed.

Knowledge, Skills And Qualifications

To be considered for this role you will be a buyer/senior buyer with a track record of developing, implementing & managing procurement strategies, ideally relating to Plant & Equipment projects.

Skills Required
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills - Priority & essential to success in the role
  • Contract skills including contract negotiation
  • Supplier Management
Experience Required
  • Experience working in a similar position or a related degree
  • Experience within construction and/or plant & equipment categories
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Good understanding of manufacturing & engineering processes
  • Ability to work under pressure, whilst ensuring deadlines are met
  • Experience with Word and Excel software
  • Comfortable in a fast paced commercial environment
