Job summary

A leading UK Defence company is seeking a Senior Buyer for a 12-month contract based in Glascoed. The role requires strong procurement strategy development skills and experience in plant and equipment projects. Ideal candidates will have excellent stakeholder engagement abilities and contract negotiation skills. This is a hybrid position with 2-3 days per week on site, offering £47.12 per hour.

Senior Buyer

12 Month Contract

Glascoed Based (Hybrid, 2-3 days per week on site)

This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UKs leading Defence companies based in Glascoed.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role you will be a buyer/senior buyer with a track record of developing, implementing & managing procurement strategies, ideally relating to Plant & Equipment projects.

Skills Required

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills - Priority & essential to success in the role
• Contract skills including contract negotiation
• Supplier Management

Experience Required

• Experience working in a similar position or a related degree
• Experience within construction and/or plant & equipment categories
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Good understanding of manufacturing & engineering processes
• Ability to work under pressure, whilst ensuring deadlines are met
• Experience with Word and Excel software
• Comfortable in a fast paced commercial environment
