Job description

We re working with a respected contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to lead subcontractor procurement for their Southern Region. The company has a long history of delivering marine projects along the South Coast, from Kent to Devon, helping to protect shorelines, improve ports, strengthen sea defences, and support the region s water infrastructure. With several new projects starting between now and next spring, they have a strong pipeline of work confirmed through 2026.

The Quantity Surveyor focuses on managing the procurement and performance of subcontractors to ensure compliance, quality, and efficiency across all projects. You will support the tendering process and continuously improve and maintain the supply chain database.

The role is well suited to a Quantity Surveyor who is looking to step away from the day-to-day running of projects and is interested in pursuing an office based role (with hybrid working).

Quantity Surveyor Duties:

  • Manage onboarding, qualification, and auditing of subcontractors
  • Oversee tender enquiries, clarifications, and evaluations
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with HSEQ, insurance, and off-payroll regulations
  • Liaise with project teams to monitor and report on subcontractor performance throughout project lifecycle
  • Support updates to company policies, procedures, and subcontract terms
  • Maintain accurate records and provide senior management with risk insights
  • Apply strong negotiation, procurement, and contract management skills
  • Work in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
