Job description

We are seeking a Senior Buyer to join a dynamic procurement team delivering a major capital investment programme in the South and Southeast regions. This role is part of a joint venture framework delivering a range of construction schemes to maintain and improve water supply and wastewater treatment infrastructure over a 5‑year period (2025‑2030), with a total programme value of up to £1bn. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and cost‑effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services. You'll work closely with project teams, suppliers, and commercial stakeholders to secure best value and maintain high standards of quality and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting project teams and procurement leadership in achieving procurement and supply chain objectives.
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with project and company goals.
  • Identifying and managing supplier relationships, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring reliable supply chains.
  • Negotiating and managing supplier contracts.
  • Mitigating procurement risks including supply chain disruptions and price volatility.
  • Maintaining optimal inventory levels to support project delivery.
