About Us

We are seeking a proactive and experienced temporary Senior Business Support Officer to join our dynamic Family Hubs team within Dudley Children’s Services. This role offers the opportunity to work with a high degree of autonomy, supporting day-to-day management, service improvement, and development of Family Hubs across the borough.

This position will play a key role in delivering administrative, financial, and employee support functions, while also supervising staff and contributing to strategic planning. The role is varied and rewarding for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The Role

Hours: 37 hours per week.

Salary: £26,403 – £28,142.

Fixed Term: Until 31 March 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • First point of contact at Family Hubs for all families, partner agencies, and colleagues.
  • Provide high-level administrative support to enable effective delivery of Family Hubs services.
  • Line manage administrative staff, ensuring effective supervision, training, and performance reviews.
  • Attend meetings and produce notes.
  • Contribute to service planning and delivery.
  • Manage financial processes including petty cash, purchase card reconciliation, and maintaining audit requirements.
  • Support recruitment processes and organise cover arrangements.
  • Supervise staff and assess training needs.
  • Manage and interrogate data systems and produce statistical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with council policies including safeguarding, data protection, and health & safety.

About You

  • NVQ Administration Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in an administrative front-facing role and supervisory roles.
  • Confident dealing with a range of sensitive and complex circumstances in an empathetic and professional manner.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Confidence in managing financial procedures, ICT systems, and packages.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
  • The ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across teams.
