This role provides general management support to the partner leading the Firm’s Private Equity practice across EMEA (Regional Section Head). The EMEA PE practice is the largest team in the global Firm, and this role is designed to deliver strong senior management assistance in the running of the practice. The position involves working with the practice leader, partners and business services functions in a collaborative manner to deliver enhancements and outcomes. The level of responsibility and impact will depend on the position-holder’s personal effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Section Management Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and project manage specific projects and initiatives the Regional Section Head (RSH) is implementing.
  • Work closely with People, Finance, Business Development and other teams to drive management improvements and implement projects for both the London private equity team and the wider EMEA team (e.g., client initiatives, financial management, productivity, focus on core priorities).
  • Organise agenda, speakers, slides and notes for regular EMEA section and London meetings.
  • Coordinate ad hoc team meetings outside London, including liaising with lead partner(s) on visits and team presentations.
  • Support Firm and executive committee requests (e.g., business priorities and actions).
  • Provide ad hoc analysis of financial and non-financial data to assist with projects (e.g., efficiency of client matters, including use of technology and leverage).
  • Serve as an alternative point of contact to the RSH on agreed projects with other Firm personnel.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Interpret high-level trends to support growth and financial performance of the section.
  • Review monthly section/office financial performance and discuss areas of concern with the RSH.
  • Manage section financial forecasts, including calls with lead partner(s) to discuss full-year expectations.
  • Manage section financial budgets, including liaising with lead partner(s) on headcount and market dynamics.
  • Collaborate with the inventory manager (especially at year-end) to support billing/collection drives and full-year revenue forecast.
  • Provide finance updates to lead partner(s) in offices.
  • Support partner and client financials, as well as expense approval and analysis.
Qualifications and skills
  • Experience working with law firm partners in large practice management roles, providing comprehensive support.
  • Preferred experience in professional services (ideally in a law firm).
  • Technically adept at learning new systems and tools.
  • Preferred experience with AI and technology in a professional services environment.
  • Focus on project execution with strong organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • High levels of self-motivation, resourcefulness, and proactivity in problem-solving.
  • Balanced judgment and professional composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to build strong relationships within the firm, coupled with high integrity and performance standards.
