Lancashire's Business Intelligence team plays a central role in supporting all our services; providing analyses to develop our understanding of the people who live in Lancashire and insight into Lancashire's economic and cultural landscape. We develop business critical reports, performance analyses and support statutory and regulatory requirements.

The following role presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at the heart of the council.

Senior Business Intelligence Officer

This role is key to linking and improving the information provided by Business Intelligence with that used and needed by operational teams and senior managers primarily in the for the Inclusion Service covering SEN, EHCP and Alternative Provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and analysis tools to support Inclusion and Education Services.
  • Analyse complex datasets to produce performance reports and statistical insights.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve data quality and develop new reporting frameworks.
  • Communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences and support inspection preparation.
Key Requirements
  • Expert in Power BI dashboard and dataset development.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high numeracy.
  • Experience in interpreting and presenting complex data for performance monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multi‑disciplinary teams.

The usual office base for this role is County Hall, Preston, although it is currently a hybrid role which includes an amount of homeworking.
