Job summary

North Yorkshire Police seeks an experienced Business Continuity Risk Manager to join the Corporate Development team. You will embed BC and risk management across the organisation, advising senior leaders and developing the BC framework within ISO 22301 standards.

Based in North Yorkshire, you will coordinate corporate BC arrangements, design exercises, lead debriefs, and report to governance boards, while building strong relationships with stakeholders and ensuring resilience across services.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in business continuity management.
• Strong knowledge of BC principles, frameworks and best practice.
• Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience producing high-quality reports, presentations and recommendations for diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously develop North Yorkshire Police's Business Continuity Management programme in line with ISO 22301 standards.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on business continuity planning to senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Coordinate, maintain and develop corporate business continuity arrangements across the organisation.
• Design, deliver and evaluate business continuity exercises and testing programmes.
• Lead debriefs following business continuity incidents and ensure lessons learned are embedded into future planning.
• Build strong relationships with senior leaders to ensure business continuity plans remain effective and relevant.
• Identify opportunities for improvement through analysis of incidents, exercises and emerging risks.
• Represent North Yorkshire Police at local and national forums, conferences and partnership meetings.
• Undertake environmental and horizon scanning to identify developments that may impact organisational resilience.
• Deputise for the Risk Manager when required.
• Facilitate risk management workshops and support departments in maintaining effective risk registers.
• Assist in developing and strengthening the organisation's risk management framework.
• Provide regular reports, updates and recommendations to governance boards and senior decision-makers.
