Job description

Overview

Join our organisation!

AtkinsRéalis is growing its Business Analysis consulting team to support digital, data and transformation programmes across the nuclear sector. We are looking for experienced Business Analysts with existing nuclear sector experience who can help clients solve complex problems in highly regulated, safety-critical environments, where operational performance, assurance, security and stakeholder alignment are essential. This is an opportunity to apply your business analysis expertise to meaningful nuclear programmes, from new build and decommissioning through to asset management, operational improvement and digitally enabled transformation.

We are seeking experienced professionals operating at Senior Consultant level with a track record in nuclear or closely related regulated environments. We welcome creative, adaptable problem solvers who want to help shape the future of the nuclear sector while continuing to develop their own career. This role offers the opportunity to work across complex, high-impact programmes and to take your career in the direction of your interests.

When it comes to living your life, we want your role with AtkinsRéalis to be a key part of your personal journey. We have a collaborative inclusive team culture where people will help, guide and mentor you to help you grow. We pitch in and help colleagues because we succeed as a team.

Our flexible and remote working policies are designed to support different personal priorities and needs. Also, ask us about some of our recent pledges for Women's'Equality, as well as being a 'Disability Confident' and 'Inclusive Employer.'

Drawing on existing nuclear sector experience as a Senior Business Analyst in our Secure Government business unit, you will support digital, data and transformation programmes across secure, regulated and safety-critical environments. You will help clients define needs, lead and manage requirements, optimise processes and deliver change in contexts where safety, assurance, security, regulatory compliance and stakeholder alignment are central to successful outcomes.

Your role
  • Delivering exceptional results for our clients by putting value at the core of everything we do.

  • Leading collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive digital initiatives and shape the culture and behaviours required for successful digital adoption.

  • Working with operational, engineering, safety, security, regulatory and digital stakeholders to translate complex needs into clear, traceable requirements and deliverable outcomes, leading senior-level engagement.

  • Working with nuclear, operational, engineering, safety, regulatory and digital stakeholders, using senior-level facilitation, analysis and constructive challenge to translate complex nuclear and secure government needs into clear, prioritised and traceable requirements that support safety, regulatory compliance outcomes, operational resilience and deliverable digital transformation.

  • Analyse processes and operations, using appropriate tools and techniques to identify improvements in accordance with client objectives, including workshop facilitation.

  • Leading end‑to‑end requirements development, from initial business needs through user‑level requirements, ensuring clear translation, traceability, and alignment to support the creation of value‑adding digital solutions.

  • Developing and leading the development of transformation roadmaps that form the foundation of digital change for our customers, influence Agile practices within our client's'environment, helping to shape key activities and actively participating in sprints, scrums and retrospectives.

  • Contributing to the development of operational improvement tools, techniques and methods that build capability within our teams, including exploring how AI‑enabled approaches can enhance efficiency, insight and value.

  • Championing stakeholders' needs, ensuring development is aligned with their requirements and business goals.

About you
  • Experience in operating at a Senior Level in consulting services to clients or relevant business analyst role.

  • Existing experience working in the nuclear sector, with an understanding of nuclear delivery environments, safety culture, regulatory compliance and assurance. Experience in comparable highly regulated, safety-critical environments such as defence, energy, utilities, transport or secure government may be relevant where it is supported by direct exposure to nuclear programmes or clients.

  • Attained or working towards BA Diploma.

  • Practical experience of working within nuclear delivery environments, including safety culture, security, regulatory compliance, assurance, configuration control and the importance of working effectively across multidisciplinary engineering, operational and digital teams.

  • Experience in technology-led transformation programmes across strategy, business design and change management, experience in an agile project delivery environment (e.g., APMP, SAFe, MSP, DSDM, Scrum).

  • Ability to support the translation of user needs and business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Analysing complex problems, designing innovative solutions, and communicating them effectively to a wide range of audiences.

  • Experience with core Business Analysis and delivery tools such as Visio for process modelling, Jira, Azure DevOps and Confluence for Agile delivery and backlog management, and requirements management platforms such as IBM DOORS, DOORS Next or Siemens Polarion to support traceability, assurance and controlled delivery in regulated nuclear environments.
