Excellent opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Analysis & Design Services team based in Reading. As a Senior Business Analyst you will be responsible for analysing, defining and shaping strategic outcomes to deliver change across the business which maximises business benefit and architectural reusability. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will also provide leadership and performance management for a team of analysts.

What you'll be doing:
  • Execute business analysis with business, IT and strategic partners on large/complex projects to identify, understand, challenge and agree requirements.
  • Recommend the best method of achieving the required business outcome via the application of a wide range of analytical tools and techniques, including process mapping, re‑engineering, gap analysis, statistical/database analysis and prototyping; and make clear recommendations based on sound analysis of options.
  • Provide input to the establishment of innovative business solutions to meet strategic, tactical and operational requirements, typically with an impact across multiple business units.
  • Interpret legislative and regulatory changes, assessing the wider impact on business procedures and in designing business solutions to ensure compliance with externally driven timeframes.
  • Evaluate and assess the costs and the potential impact on the expected return on investment of proposed solutions, considering both technical limitations and operational impacts. Make recommendations providing thorough and well‑reasoned justification, with reference to the business drivers and business case.
  • Be responsible for performance management of Business Analysts, supporting their development and training needs.
  • Produce clear and effective documentation of both a detailed and descriptive nature, using graphical and statistical information in an intelligent way to communicate requirements, business solution options and feasibility assessments to different stakeholder audiences.
  • Support business acceptance testing activities, ensuring that Testing Strategy/Plans are fit for purpose and providing a central escalation point for any queries and issues arising from the Testing Team.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Analysis & Design Services practice as a centre of excellence and to the wider objectives of Diligenta Change, taking proactive responsibility for identifying and progressing improvements.
What we're looking for:
  • A proven background within a similar Senior Business Analyst role gained within a financial services environment, ideally Life and Pensions.
  • Good understanding of differing operating models and how this can impact the cost‑effectiveness of solutions.
  • Good understanding of IT Systems – e.g. must understand the architecture and the consequences of the solution/design on that.
  • Experience of a wide range of project methodologies and approaches.
  • Experience of applying a range of techniques to gather, sort and format data for detailed analysis and to present the result in an unambiguous manner; appreciation of best practice for different types of analysis.
  • Experience of a wide range of elicitation techniques to capture business requirements across the organisation ensuring that those requirements are validated against operational needs and priorities.
  • Proficient in a wide range of information/data presentation techniques, including the standard MS software applications and process modelling tools (e.g. Visio).
  • A systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving, supported by strong interpersonal skills and confidence to select and apply relevant analytical and process engineering tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, good fact‑finding skills and ability to make evaluative judgments based on both quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
