Job summary

Lockheed Martin Corporation in Helensburgh, Scotland, seeks a Senior Business Analyst to join an Agile team delivering Defence and technology programmes. The role blends Agile delivery with URD documentation in a secure environment.

You will lead requirements activities, write user stories and URDs, facilitate workshops, and ensure traceability across multiple workstreams while complying with security standards. Hybrid, 4-day week, on-site/wfh balance.

About the role

We are looking for a versatile and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team based from Helensburgh, Scotland. This role benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4-day working week Monday - Thursday and hybrid working,with typically 2 days a week onsite and 2 days working from home (subject to business needs).

As our Senior Business Analyst you will operate primarily within an Agile software development environment, while also possessing the ability to write formal URDs (User Requirements Documentation) more aligned to traditional waterfall projects.

You will play a key role in shaping, capturing, and delivering requirements across complex programmes within a secure and highly regulated environment. Working closely with stakeholders, developers, and operational teams, you will help design and implement systems that support hundreds of users across the Ministry of Defence and contribute directly to critical operational decision making. The successful candidate will operate across multiple disciplines and workstreams, leading analysis activities and supporting delivery throughout the project lifecycle. Alongside strong collaboration skills, you must be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects, deliverables, and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Required skills, qualifications and experience

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst
• Experience working within a DevOps environment
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and traditional Waterfall delivery approaches
• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, URDs, and formal specifications
• Experience facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders at all organisational levels
• Proficiency in process mapping and business analysis techniques, including As-Is and To-Be modelling
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience supporting delivery activities and managing workstreams or project components
• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Visio
