Senior Business Analyst

Hutcheon Mearns are exclusively engaged to recruit Senior Business Analyst for a highly acquisitive Private Equity backed business which provides services to the offshore energy industry, both in renewables and oil and gas. The Opportunity

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of operations, commercial functions, and leadership. You will take ownership of offshore operational fleet reporting, support commercial reporting, and ensure data-driven insights empower strategic decision-making across the Group.

As the bridge between C‑Suite leaders, Business Intelligence (BI) specialists, application / database managers, and business teams, you’ll deliver high-quality reporting frameworks, streamline processes, and turn complex datasets into actionable insights that drive growth, efficiency, and performance.

  • Deliver Group offshore operational reporting and support commercial reporting with accuracy, timeliness, and business relevance
  • Partner with application / database managers to align asset categories across operations and commercial systems
  • Act as the primary liaison between executives, BI teams, and operational functions to ensure reporting solutions support strategic objectives
  • Support BI teams in the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards, KPI frameworks, and reporting packs that highlight commercial performance, operational delivery and growth objectives
  • Work with offshore operations teams to standardise reporting approaches across offshore operations to ensure consistency across geographies
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Contribute to business planning, forecasting, and scenario modelling through robust analysis
  • Continuously review and enhance reporting processes to improve efficiency, consistency and value delivery
Background and Experience
  • Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst (or similar) with expertise in financial, commercial, and operational reporting
  • Strong understanding of business performance drivers and ability to link data insights to strategy
  • Analytical capability and proven experience designing Group-level reporting frameworks
  • Experience with multi‑location / offshore operations desirable
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence in engaging senior leadership
  • Proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and advanced Excel modelling
