Senior Building Surveyor / Associate - Building Consultancy

An opportunity has arisen for a Building Surveyor to join our Building Consultancy department to work with a range of investor clients, including Mileway, Hammerson plc, Aviva, Legal & General, RLAM, RailPen, and Aberdeen Standard Investments. Corporate occupier clients such as Barclays and Bunzl are also on the roster.

The successful candidate will join a busy regional office and work alongside other internal departments such as Investment Agency, Managed Services, Valuations, Lease Advisory, Planning, and Rating to provide holistic commercial advice to our clients.

What this job involves
  • Undertaking Building Surveyor inspections and preparing reports.
  • Preparing specifications for and administering repair and refurbishment contracts.
  • Preparing and negotiating schedules of dilapidations / preparing exit strategies.
  • Preparing planned preventive maintenance plans.
  • Undertaking building reinstatement cost assessments.
  • Assisting with coordination of portfolio instructions and undertaking other duties from time to time as may be reasonably required.
  • Making sustainable business links with both external and internal clients and offering a professional and excellent client service at all times.
  • Some travel will be required in this role.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Ability to work within a team and on own initiative.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and self‑motivated.
  • Strong verbal and numerical skills and comfortable with report writing.
  • Excellent time‑management and general organisational skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
  • Well presented and excellent communication skills.
  • MRICS (Building Surveying) with proven experience, preferably PQE in a commercial consultancy.
  • Experience of AutoCAD is an advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Clean driving licence.
