Senior Building Surveyor

Hyperion Partners are partnering with a leading housing association to recruit an experienced Senior Building Surveyor on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the management and maintenance of social housing stock while providing expert surveying advice.

The Role

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will deliver technical expertise across housing assets, focusing on property inspections, compliance, and planned maintenance. You will provide guidance on refurbishment, repairs, and statutory obligations, supporting the housing association in maintaining safe, high-quality homes for residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct building and stock condition surveys across the housing portfolio.
  • Prepare technical reports, schedules of condition, and costed options for repairs, planned maintenance, and major works.
  • Advise on compliance with health & safety legislation, building regulations, and housing standards.
  • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring quality and value for money in service delivery.
  • Support the delivery of refurbishment, capital works, and planned maintenance programmes.
  • Provide technical guidance to colleagues, stakeholders, and senior management.
About You
  • Qualified Building Surveyor (MRICS or equivalent preferred).
  • Experience working within housing, social housing, or managing residential property portfolios.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building construction, defects, maintenance, and compliance.
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety, and housing regulations.
