Job summary

A leading construction services provider in London is looking for a Senior Building Control Surveyor to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and manage building control services. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in building control or a related field, and have qualifications as a Registered Building Inspector. Excellent technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and experience in multi-tenanted commercial buildings are desirable. Qualifications

  • Registered Building Inspector at Class 3G or 3H level (Class 2F will also be considered).
  • Experience in building control for multi-tenanted commercial buildings.
  • Reviewing fire-engineered solutions.

Job description

The Senior Building Control Surveyor is a critical role at the UK's flagship airport, responsible for providing high-quality, customer-focused building control services. As a Senior Building Control Surveyor, you will be at the forefront of ensuring compliance with the Building Act 1984, Building Regulations 2010, and Building (Registered Building Control Approvers, etc.) (England) 2024.

This company is seeking an experienced and technically proficient individual to join their team.

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing and assessing submitted plans to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and relevant standards
  • Conducting on-site inspections to verify construction activities meet regulatory requirements
  • Coordinating necessary consultations and assessments to ensure overall compliance
  • Developing and delivering guidance and training to improve knowledge and compliance among team members and customers
  • Maintaining and enhancing the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management system

To be successful in this role, you must be a Registered Building Inspector at Class 3G or 3H level (Class 2F will also be considered). A degree in building control or a related construction discipline, as well as full membership in a relevant professional institution (such as RICS, CABE, CIOB, or CIBSE), are essential.
