Job summary

Senior Building Control Team Leader in West Sussex is recruited through Service Care Solutions Ltd on behalf of a Local Authority. The role leads a small team of Inspectors and administration staff, audits readiness for a Building Safety Regulator audit, and ensures statutory duties are delivered.

The position is hybrid (3 days working from home), 37 hours per week, temporary until 31 March 2027 with potential extension, and starts 14 September 2026. A driving licence and RBI status are required.

Qualifications

• Current RBI status is required.
• Specialist Building Control competencies per role.
• Experience with Building Safety Act 2022.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and supervise a team of inspectors and administration staff.
• Oversee processing of Building Control applications from submission to completion.
• Carry out and supervise site inspections and related notices.
• Provide technical guidance and CPD to staff.
• Support regulatory compliance and service improvements.
