Job summary

Pegasus Homes Limited is seeking a hands-on on-site role at our West Byfleet development in Surrey. You will drive building operations, manage resident relations and coordinate contractors to ensure smooth daily life for residents.

The role combines practical building knowledge with a focus on cultivating a lively community. The fixed-term contract lasts several months, with DBS checks handled by us and free parking on-site.

Qualifications

  • Empathetic, patient and able to create a warm atmosphere for residents.
  • Experience in facilities management, property maintenance, or luxury hospitality is a plus.
  • Strong Health & Safety knowledge and diligent record-keeping.
  • Able to juggle administrative tasks and event planning.
  • Clear communicator who works with internal teams and external contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular building inspections and essential checks (fire alarm, emergency light, water system testing).
  • Coordinate with external contractors for maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are met for the development.
  • Act as first point of contact for resident inquiries and emergencies.
  • Create a positive experience for new residents during move-in.
  • Plan and organise social events to foster community spirit.
  • Maintain accurate records and an events diary; collaborate with Sales, Development and Completions teams.

Location West Byfleet, Surrey

Hours 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday

Package £30,000 per annum (pro-rata for the duration of the contract) + enhanced benefits & rewards

You will be based at our beautiful Highfields, West Byfleet development, a stunning community of apartments, residents lounge, yoga space & treatment room, guest suite and landscaped gardens.

About our role

You'll be the driving force behind our residential development and our go-to person on-site, making sure everything operates seamlessly while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for our residents. This exciting role has a perfect mix of practical building knowledge and a commitment to cultivating a lively community.

Building Operations
  • Conduct regular building inspections and carry out essential checks, including fire alarm, emergency light, and water system testing.
  • Coordinate with external contractors to ensure effective maintenance and timely repairs.
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements for the development are met.
  • Act as the first point of contact for resident inquiries and emergencies.
Resident & Community Relations
  • Create a positive experience for new residents by assisting with the move-in process.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with residents and their families.
  • Plan and organise engaging social events and activities to foster a strong community spirit.
Administration & Collaboration
  • Maintain accurate records and an events diary.
  • Collaborate with our internal Sales, Development, and Completions teams.
Important details
  • This is a full time role working 35 hours a week, working Monday - Friday on either 09:00 - 16:30 or 08:30 - 16:00 shift pattern, depending on your preference.
  • At Pegasus, the safety and wellbeing of our residents are our highest priorities. Therefore, this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check (we handle the application and cost for this).
  • This is a fixed term contract expected to last 4 months.
  • Free staff parking is available onsite.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a 'people person' who takes genuine pride in their surroundings. You are as comfortable chatting with a resident over coffee as you are checking a fire alarm panel or coordinating a contractor.

Your skills & experience
  • You’re empathetic, patient, and genuinely enjoy creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere for residents and their families.
  • You have a keen eye for detail. Experience in facilities management, property maintenance, or luxury hospitality is a significant plus.
  • You take responsibility seriously. You understand the importance of Health & Safety compliance and are diligent when it comes to essential checks and record-keeping.
  • From managing a move-in schedule to planning a summer garden party, you can juggle administrative tasks and event planning without breaking a sweat.
  • You’re a clear communicator who enjoys working with internal teams and external contractors to get the job done right.
Your attributes

  • You are punctual, professional, and possess a calm head when dealing with emergencies.
  • You are comfortable using basic IT systems for logging maintenance requests and maintaining digital records.
