Role overview:

We are looking for a Senior Build Engineer who will be responsible for authoring and maintaining studio build pipelines. You will be the main point of contact for title build processes from implementation to long-term maintenance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Project Optimization. Utilize appropriate metrics to recommend improvements or changes to active build services.
  • Technical Mentoring. Mentoring team on technical aspects of build engineering, and related best practices.
  • Technical Consultancy. Partner with Studios and PSS QA Engineering Services to understand and recommend optimal solutions for titles.
  • Project Engagement. Provide timely, relevant customer-facing reporting to and communication with title build stakeholders.
  • Documentation. Keeping all relevant service and process documentation updated.
  • Service Metrics. Assist in the maintenance and advancement of reporting and metrics gathering processes.

Shared responsibilities:

  • Operational Escalations. Point of contact for operational escalations and blockers, working with title stakeholders to solve.
  • Delivery Tools Support. Deployment and maintenance of existing/approved tools to aid delivery.
  • Infrastructure planning. Developing long-term plans for infrastructure to support the delivery of agreed services.
  • Technical Leadership. Collaborate with Technical Directors and/or studio equivalents to understand relevant and upcoming tech stacks and industry trends.
  • Infrastructure Systems Support. Operational maintenance of systems that underpin all aspects of Build Services - e.g., Jenkins, Perforce, Cloud Services
  • Implementing delivery pipelines. Ensure reliable, automated build delivery to QA staff and partners.
  • Monitoring delivery pipelines. Monitoring and troubleshooting of agreed game build pipeline creation phase for projects.
  • Service Budgeting. Appropriate budgeting for title projections, as well as non-project budgeting such as travel, hardware, training, etc.
  • Customer Support. Providing customer support for all aspects of service via Jira Service Desk, in conjunction with support from ALM
  • Vendor Management. Onboarding vendors, conducting and maintaining relevant training plans, and assigning work packages.

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years working in an industry build engineering role.
  • Ability to effectively articulate complex ideas and concepts to individuals with differing backgrounds and varying degrees of technical experience.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve relevant hardware and software issues in the context of Build Engineering.
  • Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
  • Experience with Perforce, GIT, or equivalent SCM tools, including admin experience.
  • Experience with Jenkins, Teamcity or equivalent CI/CD tools.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Batch, Bash, or equivalent terminal language.
  • Experience with Python, Groovy, C#, C++ or equivalent language.
  • Experience managing Cloud infrastructure and with DevOps concepts such as Containerization, Virtualization, Networking, etc
