Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join a friendly, supportive practice in South Bristol. The ideal candidate will manage bookkeeping duties for various clients, prepare VAT returns, and maintain accurate financial records. Proficiency in Xero and/or QuickBooks is essential. This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of up to £32k.

Qualifications

  • Proven bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero and/or QuickBooks.
  • Solid understanding of VAT rules and reporting.
  • Confident in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Managing bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients using cloud-based accounting software.
  • Preparing VAT returns and submitting to HMRC.
  • Reconciling bank accounts and maintaining accurate ledgers.
  • Assisting with cashflow and budgeting reports for clients.
  • Liaising with clients to gather financial information and resolve queries.
  • Supporting the wider accounts team as needed.

Position: Permanent, full time

Salary: up to £32k

Are you an experienced bookkeeper looking for their next challenge? Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a talented Senior Bookkeeper to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, supportive practice where you can take ownership of a diverse portfolio and contribute to the success of the business.

The Position
  • Managing bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients using cloud-based accounting software (primarily Xero and QuickBooks)
