Dorling Kindersley (DK) is seeking a Senior Designer to shape the visual identity of our Canelo and fiction custom projects, delivering striking covers and premium editions.

You will lead design, collaborate with editorial, production, sales and marketing, oversee freelance designers, and ensure print-ready files across multiple titles.

This hybrid London role demands strong typography, advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, and a proactive, outcome‑driven approach.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing standout fiction and non-fiction covers.
• Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
• Excellent eye for detail, typography and artwork management.
• Experience commissioning illustration or photography.

Responsibilities

• Design market-leading book covers for Canelo and imprints, delivering print-ready files.
• Oversee freelance cover design with editors and expand freelance pool.
• Lead bespoke editions and box sets for retailers with premium finishes.
• Present covers in jacket meetings and gather feedback.
• Collaborate with Editorial, Production, Sales, and Marketing & PR teams.
• Maintain sales assets and support Marketing & PR initiatives.
• Act as primary design contact across imprints and manage external vendors.
