A major NHS trust in the UK is seeking a Senior Biomedical Scientist to perform diagnostic investigations for infectious diseases. This role involves supervising and training staff, managing laboratory sections, and operating as part of a 24/7 service. The ideal candidate will have significant experience and state registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
The post-holder is a highly experienced, state registered Senior Biomedical Scientist and performs scientific investigations in the diagnosis of infectious diseases. The role also includes managing the information and computer systems used by the Microbiology service. Involved in the daily supervision of Biomedical Scientists and support staff. Has technical responsibility of a section of the laboratory. Scientists in this grade take charge of a section of work and will be expected to supervise and train qualified and unqualified staff. They may also unsupervised as part of the 24/7 service.
