Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Clinical Biochemistry department. You will work across the Bedfordshire Hospital Laboratory sites, contributing to a high-quality diagnostic service and training opportunities.

The role involves 24/7 shift patterns once trained, with opportunities to develop specialist knowledge in clinical biochemistry, haematology and transfusion science training accreditation.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered
• BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent
• Specialist IBMS Diploma (desirable)
• Communication skills: clear written documentation, report writing
• Knowledge: Biomedical Science, health and safety legislation
• Experience: extensive practical experience in Clinical Biochemistry

Responsibilities

• To perform as a HCPC Registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist in the Clinical Biochemistry Department.
• To assist the departmental laboratory senior in delivering a cohesive service.
• To implement the department's quality policy and UKAS standards.
• To deputise in the absence of the departmental laboratory senior.
• To work at both Bedfordshire Hospital Laboratory sites as needed.
• This role may involve manual handling of heavy loads with appropriate training.
