In this role, you'll lead technical strategy and system architecture for high-performance backend services, ensuring scalability and reliability at every layer. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to build tools that directly impact the experience of millions of users. Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy complex backend systems, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Set and uphold engineering best practices, coding standards, and architecture guidelines.
  • Build and maintain core platform components such as APIs, services, and infrastructure that support product-wide functionalities.
  • Lead technical discussions and influence architectural decisions across the organization.
  • Mentor and support engineering peers, promoting a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and encourage engineering excellence.
  • Research and incorporate emerging technologies to continuously evolve the platform.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in backend system architecture and performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated leadership in end-to-end project delivery from design to deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js, PostgreSQL (or similar databases), RabbitMQ (or other message queues), and AWS (or comparable cloud platforms).
  • Expertise in API design, distributed systems, and testing (unit and integration).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and teamwork skills in a remote, fast-paced environment.
  • A strong appetite for learning and keeping up with technological advancements.
  • Bonus points for experience with platform-wide tech adoption, open-source contributions, or knowledge of the localization domain.
