Trigger.dev is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to advance our Open Source and Cloud product. You will work with Node.js, TypeScript, and cloud infrastructure to design scalable backend systems and APIs that handle real customer traffic.

You’ll contribute to database design, query optimization, and robust, observable services. Remote-friendly startup culture emphasizes docs, content, and autonomous teamwork.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Expertise with Postgres and Redis.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Comfortable being on call.
• Open to in-person events throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing SDK and platform features.
• Database design and data modeling for scalable systems.
• Query performance and data access optimization.
• Build backend systems capable of production load and reliability.
• Design scalable APIs and services for real customer traffic.
• Apply security best practices in shipped work.
• Implement observability and debugging tooling.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and roadmaps.
